We provide free delivery and installation service to all of our customers. The delivery service includes full in-home setup and installation. Our installation specialists will carry the piece inside, set it up and remove any packaging refuse. They can even remove any old furniture you may be replacing at no charge. This reflects our commitment to providing the highest possible level of service to our clients. If you prefer a curb side drop off this can be arranged.

Note that when you pre-register your order on the website a design consultant will be assigned to your account. They can arrange a time to visit your home to take measurements of entryways, doorways, elevators and the final installation space to make certain that your sofa will fit upon delivery. This service is included free of charge to all UltraModern.ca clients.

Will you deliver into a condo or apartment building?

We will provide a full delivery and installation service right into your home. If you require booking a service elevator we will arrange this ahead of time to make certain it is available upon delivery. Note that a design consultant will be assigned to your account, and can arrange a time to visit your home to take measurements of entryways, doorways, elevators and the final installation space to make certain that your sofa will fit upon delivery. This service is included free of charge to all UltraModern.ca clients.

What is your delivery area?

We provide free shipping to every city in southern Ontario, and to most rural areas within a 4 hour drive of Toronto. This includes complete coverage from Windsor to Ottawa.

If you are uncertain whether you are located within our delivery area, please contact a customer service agent for assistance. Note that we will ship to locations outside of the standard delivery area. A customer service agent will be happy to provide a quote for shipping outside of the standard delivery area.

Will you ship orders outside of Ontario?

We can ship orders to almost any province, state, or country worldwide. Please contact customer service to receive a shipping quote to your location.

How long does it take to receive my sofa?

Delivery is accomplished within 30 days of receiving your order. The build queue is rarely longer than 2 to 3 weeks.

What type of leather is used in the construction of the furniture?

All sofas are upholstered with full aniline dye Italian leather. Only the smallest percentage of leather on the market is of high enough quality to be full aniline dyed.

What type of care or maintenance does the leather require?

UltraModern.ca sofas are constructed with 100% full aniline Italian leather. Aniline Italian leather is naturally near flawless and has not had corrective manufacturing or chemicals applied. It is important to understand that a high quality, natural leather is very durable. It is the glues and chemicals used in the correctional manufacturing of lower grade leathers that affect the durability, making them brittle, and more prone to cracks, wear and damage.

As such, the 100% aniline Italian leather used in every one of our pieces is naturally in the most supple and durable state possible, requiring very little in the way of maintenance. Intermittently wiping the sofa with a damp cloth will keep it clean, and is the only maintenance that will be required.

What difference does full aniline Italian leather make?

Full aniline leather is naturally near flawless, and does not require processing with chemicals. The leather will breathe much better because of this, and will not stick to skin. It will remain cool to the touch even after sitting on it for extended periods of time.

Full aniline leather will not discolor, crack or peel over time. In short, it is far more comfortable in addition to being more durable, and requires almost no maintenance.

Will real leather be damaged if I spill a drink on it?

No, real leather is very easy to maintain and will not be damaged if you spill a drink on it. The only commonly available substances that can damage full aniline leather are nail polish remover and ink. If you spill wine and it is left to sit and soak in the acidity in the wine will seep into the leather.

Can I customize the design of my sofa?

Yes, you can customize your sofa in any way imaginable. After pre-registering your order on the website a design consultant will be assigned to assist you with the selection of your leather colors and will be able to take any customization requests you may have. Your sofa is not prefabricated. Every sofa is designed and built for each specific customer, and as such all customization requests can be supported.

Is each piece really one of a kind?

Each piece in our collection is a limited edition, with designs in the collection being updated once per season. Each piece is made by hand and is truly one of a kind. Note that because customizations requests can be supported you have the ability to further modify the look and feel of your furniture, resulting in a truly one of a kind piece that cannot be found anywhere else.

What is the frame made out of?

Every sofa is constructed from kiln dried Canadian hardwood and steel. The quality of Canadian hardwood is second to none in the world. Each piece is constructed with heirloom build quality, and is likely to outlast the other furniture in your home.

There is also a green aspect to using Canadian hardwood. By utilizing Canadian materials we reduce shipping distances and lessen the ecological footprint because we do not need to ship heavy materials from overseas.

Can I havea duotone leather design?

Yes, you can customize your sofa in any way you see fit. You can finish your sofa in any combination of leather colours you can imagine. Please contact customer service to provide them with the details of any customization requests.

What is the build queue?

The build queue is the list of furniture our design team is currently working on. Because each piece is a one of a kind, made specifically for each customer, there are a limited number of sofas that can be worked on at the same time.

When you pre-register your order on the website, the next available date is reserved for the construction of your furniture. During this time you can meet with your design consultant to review leather colors and customization requests (if any). Your spot in the build queue is held while you review the details of your order. When you give the green light to proceed construction will begin, otherwise if you choose not to proceed your space in the build queue will be released to the next customer. Note that pre-registering your order on the website and reserving a space on the build queue does not in any way commit you to purchasing. The date is simply held for you in the event that you decide to proceed with a full order.

Where are the sofas made?

The sofas are built by hand by our team of artisans and designers working in Toronto. All Canadian materials are utilized in the construction of the frame and seating. The sofas are upholstered in full aniline dye Italian leather.

What type of warranty is included?

Every sofa in our collection is made of 100% kiln dried Canadian Oak and Maple hardwood, reinforced with Canadian steel. The sofa is then finished in full aniline dye Italian leather. Each piece is built with heirloom quality, and is likely to far outlast any other piece of furniture in your home.

Both the frame and leather are fully covered by a 2 year warranty. Any failure will be immediately fixed or replaced. The furniture is constructed of such high quality materials and workmanship that it is nearly impossible to damage under normal circumstances, and would typically require significant abuse to cause any point of failure. Any damage caused by neglect, excessive wear and tear or abuse will void the warranty. Examples of excessive wear and tear include children jumping on furniture, holes poked in leather, or leaving the sofa in an unsuitable environment such the outdoors.

There is not one part of our sofas that is prefabricated on an assembly line. Each piece in the UltraModern.ca furniture collection is made by hand with the utmost of care, and is carefully crafted by our team of artisans in Toronto. You will purchase from UltraModern.ca knowing that the materials, attention to detail, and quality of workmanship are second to none.

What is the satisfaction guarantee?

Every piece of furniture is carefully crafted by hand, and protected with our complete satisfaction guarantee. If for any reason whatsoever you are not completely happy with your furniture, we will take it back to resolve the problem.

Where can I see one of the sofas in person?

UltraModern.ca provides direct working access to designers producing highly exclusive furniture designs. The pieces may intermittently be on display at select high end furniture retailers. Please contact support to find out if a retailer in your local area may have one of our pieces on display.
